Chika Katagiri is a Senior Scientist in the Skin Biology Research Group at the Innovative Science Research & Development Center of Shiseido Co., Ltd.

Dr Katagiri began her career at Shiseido Co., Ltd. in 1993 and has primarily conducted research in Aesthetic Dermatology and Keratinocyte Biology. Her research focuses on finding the harmful factor involved in skin damage and aging, and developed Shiseido Future Solution LX, an authentic "Aging Care" product that cares for both present and future skin.

Dr Katagiri earned a Ph.D. (Science) in 2006 from Hokkaido University , the same year she won an Honorary Mention Award from the The International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists. Between 1995 and 1996, she was sent by Shiseido to study at Department of Dermatology, University of Californnia, San Francisco.
